First of all, do you have....?
Preparation pre-session
In the previous hours:
- Menstrual cycle, or are you pregnant
- Cancer or Lymphoma
- Thrombosis or aneurysm.
- Abdominal hernia
- Signs of infection, fever, flu or skin infection
- Chronic illness, veins or circulatory issues
- Inflammation
- A recent surgery (in the past 9 months)
Preparation pre-session
In the previous hours:
- Don’t eat at least 3-4 hours before the massage
- Preferably, don't consume drinks with caffeine and sugar (it contracts the abdomen)
- You can drink water normally, preferably with no ice.
- Avoid taking painkillers, alcohol or drugs in the last 6-24 hours.
- Do not to eat for 1 hour after the massage (or until you feel like, depending on how deep is the session)
- Try to be in a calm space for at least 1-2 hours after the massage (it is not recommended to schedule meetings, work or other demanding activities)
- If needed, allow yourself a time for reflection.
